Lovely last day!

We’d like to say a huge thank you to Parents and Carers for your very kind gifts!

We had lots of fun on our last day and surprised Miss K with a video and some birthday treats!

Have a brilliant holiday and stay safe!

What an amazing year!

Tomorrow is our last day in Year 1. We’ve all worked so hard, learnt so much and really grown up! The Year 1 team are very proud of us!

We hope you have a relaxing and safe summer holiday. Here’s a video to remind us of the fun we’ve had:

Here’s a video which shows how much 1P have grown up this year!

Miss Kingsley was very touched by this amazing acrostic poem written by Phoebe and her mummy! Don’t you think she read it beautifully? It was a very special moment!
Thank you!

Our trip to Blackpool Zoo!

We had a fantastic time at Blackpool Zoo yesterday! Luckily, the rain stopped soon after we arrived so our sandwiches weren’t too soggy!
We watched the amazing sea lion show and then managed to see ALL the animals at the zoo! The only grumpy character was the lion, who clearly wanted David for lunch!
Our feet were hurting by 3pm and lots of us nodded off on the way home!

Many thanks to the parents and friends who accompanied us, and to all parents for supporting our lovely trip.
What a way to end a very successful year!

Look at how we’ve changed!

This is our last week in Year One and we’ve had a great year!

Look at how the children in 1P have changed since their first day in Year One!

London, Paris….Denton!

Here we are modelling the fantastic t-shirts we designed for our enterprise project. May we say a HUGE thank you to Parents for coming and buying your child’s t-shirt. We made a profit of over £80 for our school!

We hope your little monster enjoys wearing their t-shirt!

Roll up, roll up! Get your little monster a t-shirt!

Dear Parents,

Just a reminder that we will be selling our monster-themed t-shirts at home time tomorrow in the Year One classrooms. You are invited to come into class to view and purchase your child’s t-shirt, which will cost £3.

We have bought and decorated the t-shirts with our own designs in the hope of making our £25 grow!

Please come and support our enterprise project!

Best wishes,

The Year One Team

Nessie news!

There has been an interesting story in the news today. A man called Steve Feltham has spent the last 24 years living in a hut next to Loch Ness, looking out for Nessie every day!

After years of no sightings, he has decided that the Loch Ness Monster is probably a large fish called a Wels catfish!

You can read the article and watch a video here.

Real-life monsters!

Ahead of our trip to Blackpool Zoo, this week Year One are learning about some real-life monsters! The terrifying creatures include: the Black Widow spider, the Black Mamba snake, the Komodo dragon, the lion, the Great White shark and the hippo. We had to read information about each animal and write some facts. You can listen to our facts below. Please let us know what you think!

I think Miss K forgot to press pause at one point during this!
